Empty malls for the homeless and migrants

There are some 300 shopping malls abandoned or failing scattered across the United States.

An empty mall would be an ideal space to house the homeless and immigrants. With some clean up and minor refurbishing, each former store could be an apartment for a family, or turned into dorms for unrelated residents. Federal and local funds could finance the re-location of these displaced people.
